The Point Pleasant Bike Trail committee has upgraded our website for increased bandwidth, a more polished look, and now a valid domain name instead of the default wix name.

This name change coincides with our vision to be a community leader in all things fitness and fun.  Trail building and improvements will still be a main project of Bike Point Pleasant but we believe this name shows our broader take on community involvement. This name change is also already reflected in our social media accounts.

We hope to continue making upgrades and additions to the site best serve our bike enthusiasts.

A representative of the PPBT attended the 2nd annual WV Bike Summit in Morgantown to speak about everything PPBT has been doing in Point Pleasant! It was great opportunity to promote our community and learn about how to complete our future goals!

This Saturday 4/1/2017 a community build project will happen at Harmon Park as new fitness equipment is installed on the grounds, thanks to a Try-This WV mini-grant.

Members of the Point Pleasant Bike Trail (PPBT) Committee will be installing outdoor exercise equipment at Harmon Park, with equipment being paid for through a “Try-This WV” mini-grant.

A new event has appeared on the tourism schedule for Point Pleasant and will help fund recreational activities throughout the city.

Outdoor Fitness Equipment Coming to Harmon Park

Coming Spring 2017 Harmon Park will provide a unique fitness activity for area residents thanks to the support of the Point Pleasant Bike Trail and Try This West Virginia.  Read the full story

Bike Racks For Main Street - September 7th, 2016

The PPBT Project would like to especially thank Famers Bank for a very gracious donation of $500 toward our efforts to install bike racks throughout Point Pleasant!

Bike racks for Main St. Point Pleasant are about to become a reality, and it's all thanks to several local businesses!! They see the potential impact of making Point bike friendly and, as usual, decided to invest even more into our community!

Bike Racks in the News - August 24th, 2016

"On the topic of recreational activities in the city, Councilman Gabe Roush, who is also a member of the Point Pleasant Bike Trail Committee, said that organization received a $954 grant to install workout equipment at a public park. Roush suggested placing the equipment at Harmon Park on or near the concrete pad used for the former skate park. Council voiced no objection to this idea.

Roush added the PPBT is purchasing compact bike racks to install downtown at an estimated cost of $1,200, which was paid for with donations. Roush said he hopes to have the racks up before next month’s Mothman Festival. Roush also suggested finding a way to pave the walking trail behind the floodwall, saying he was trying to get a meeting with Main Street Point Pleasant Director Charles Humphreys to discuss the idea."

Mayor's Night Ride Series - June 10th, 2016

The Point Pleasant Bike Trail’s “Mayor’s Night Ride Series” began on Friday. Held Fridays at 6:30 p.m. at Riverfront Park, prior to each Mayor’s Night Out Concert, the rides are free to cycling enthusiasts of all levels.
